samskrta sangha (संस्कृतसङ्घः) is a cultural body of the students, staff and faculty of IISc. The sangha which has been an active body for more than three decades, aims at promoting a better understanding and awareness of Sanskrit Language, Indian Culture and Heritage.

The main activities of the Sangha are in the following three areas:

  • Samskrt Language
  • Samskrt Literature
  • Indian Culture and Traditions

The Sangha conducts talks and lectures by eminent scholars and professionals, spoken Samskrt workshops, literary competitions and cultural programmes. Please go through the current list of Activities by clicking here.

राष्ट्रिय-संस्कृत-संस्थानस्य द्वितीय-दीक्षा - Dvitiya Deeksha

Samskrta Sangha of IISc is organizing a three-month certificate course designed by Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi [1]. The venue for the classes is L1 (Lecture Hall Complex), IISc. The classes will be held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 6:15 to 7:45PM. The participants should be able to converse in, or at least understand, basic simple spoken Sanskrit. For registering, interested people need to fill an application form and pay Rs. 150/- (Rs. 30/- towards registration and Rs. 120/- for books). You can find the application form here.
